"The Man in the Mangroves" Poem
Living in Key West, Florida in the 1990's, Donna Decker was offered a tour of a homeless encampment situated in a mangrove swamp. Her encounter with one of its residents led her to write the poem that inspired Andy Moorer's opera-novella and now, a short animated film.
